Instructions for table volunteers

INFO FOR TABLE VOLUNTEERS WHEN YOU ARRIVE….

Once 4 people have arrived at the Garden Theater table for a shift, after training, send at least 2 of them to the table in front of the library on Witherspoon St.

At the tables we 1. Collect donations 3. Sign-up volunteers 2. Register voters 4. Share our enthusiasm for OBAMA!

1. Buttons, Bumper Stickers, and Donations • We have buttons and bumper stickers for a minimum donation of $2 for each button or sticker. • All donations (of any amount) to the Obama campaign must be accompanied by a donation form including amount donated, name, address, employer, occupation, and home phone. Donations without the form cannot be sent to the campaign.

2. Register Voters—new voters and anyone who has moved • Make sure a home phone is given so the voter can be called if there are any problems with the form. • If this is the first time voting in their NJ county check New Registration even if they have registered to vote in another county previously. • Please check that the voter form is completely filled out before the voter walks away (compare to highlighted sample). • Our preference is to take all forms we collect to the elections clerk so we can check them. Alternatively, the voter can mail it on their own. • Give anyone who is registering to vote or has questions about voter registration a “Thank you for registering to vote” card which has a phone number for confirming registration and other info. • We have New Jersey and Pennsylvania registration applications, as well as NJ absentee applications.

3. Volunteers • Please sign-up anyone interested in working with the campaign in any way.

THE NEXT SHIFT…. Please help explain all of this and whatever else you have learned to the next shift. Give them some time to arrive, especially if you are at the library. You can call the other table if you are waiting and no one has arrived. Download a copy of the information to print.
